It supports employees of public authorities to build their knowledge of human rights and responsibilities under the Charter and apply the Charter to realistic scenarios in their service delivery settings.
Participants will:
- understand how the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities operates in Victoria
- build knowledge of the 20 protected human rights in the Charter
- understand mental health service obligations
- understand how human rights can be lawfully limited
- be introduced to human rights complaints mechanisms
- know where to go for further information and resources
